Welcome
Welcome to the chamber music academy for piano, strings and wind players from 16th to 20th of March 2010 in Oldenburg (Oldb), Germany.
The old residential town of the counts and dukes of Oldenburg is the administrative and cultural heart of the northwestern region of Lower Saxony. Hardly anywhere else are people living so happily in this mixture of metropolitan atmosphere and green-garden-town-comfort. For 14 years the historic centre of Oldenburg with its concert hall in the old castle, the Lamberti Church, the palace garden and other historic places are offering a fascinating background for the International Music Festival Oldenburg Promenade. Based on this festival, the International Music Competition for Young People was founded in 2001.
Initialized in 2009, the Chamber Music Academy is drafted for young musicians aged between 14 and 25, playing chamber music on either piano, strings or wind-instruments on an advanced level.
The academy deals with chamber music in different combinations of instruments. It will work on several pieces of chamber music which will be presented to the public in a concert at the end of the academy.
The rehearsals will tackle questions of modeling sounds, of articulation and interpreting the selected pieces of music. Basic rules of the interplay in a chamber music ensemble will also be discussed.
The work in the rehearsals will not only base on the knowledge of the very experienced professors. It is especially the participant’s initiatives and ideas that are expressly wanted for realizing the musical interpretation.
